How can we help?
Open the app and tap the Sounds tab. Tap any sound tile to start playing it. The sound loops continuously. Tap it again to stop. You can have multiple sounds playing at the same time.
No. All 20 sounds are bundled with the app when you download it. Drift works completely offline — in aeroplane mode, underground, or anywhere with no signal.
Yes. Drift plays audio in the background. Lock your screen, switch to another app, or browse the web — the sounds keep playing. Use the lock screen controls to pause or adjust volume.
Tap a sound tile that is currently playing to open its volume slider. Drag the slider to set the volume level for that sound independently from the others.
You can layer up to 5 sounds simultaneously. Each sound has its own independent volume control so you can create exactly the mix you want.
When you have a mix you like, tap the Scenes tab and tap "Save current mix". Give it a name. Your scene is saved on device and appears in the Scenes list for quick one-tap resume.
Drift includes 20 sounds: heavy rain, light rain, thunderstorm, ocean waves, stream, white noise, brown noise, pink noise, fan, air conditioning, fireplace, forest night, wind, cafe, vinyl crackle, deep hum, spaceship, heartbeat, bells, and birdsong. All bundled — nothing streams.
Yes. In the Scenes tab, swipe left on any scene (iOS) or long-press it (Android) to reveal the delete option.
Tap the timer icon on the Now Playing bar or go to Settings → Sleep timer. Choose a duration from 15 minutes to 8 hours. When the timer approaches the end, Drift gradually fades out all sounds over the final few minutes until silence.
Yes. Go to the Alarm tab and set your wake-up time and the days it should repeat. The alarm fires as a local notification — no internet needed. Make sure Drift has notification permission in your phone's Settings.
Check that Drift has notification permission (Settings → Apps → Drift → Notifications on Android, or Settings → Drift → Notifications on iOS). On Android, also check that battery optimisation is not restricting Drift, and that exact alarm permission is granted (Settings → Apps → Drift → Permissions).
Yes. The sleep timer runs in the background. Lock your screen as normal — the sounds will fade out and stop when the timer ends.
No. Drift collects zero personal data. No account required. No analytics. No crash reporting. Your saved scenes and settings live only on your phone. We have no server and cannot see anything you do in the app.
Everything is permanently deleted — saved scenes, timer preferences, alarm settings. There is no cloud copy. Nothing to request from us.
In v1.0, data is tied to your device. If your phone backup includes Drift, restoring from that backup should transfer your scenes. Otherwise, you can re-create them — the sound combinations are not complex.
Drift is £5.99 (or $7.99 USD) as a one-time purchase. You pay once and own it forever — no subscription, no recurring charges.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. On iOS: go to reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android: open the Play Store → Order history → Request a refund. We have no ability to process refunds directly.
Yes. On iOS, use the same Apple ID to restore your purchase — tap "Restore purchases" in Settings. On Android, the same Google account gives you access on any Android device you own.
